STONE
CROSS FARM HANDCRAFTED SOAPS
Patrick & Leeta Kennedy own a farm
in Taylorsville, KY where (amongst many other things!) they produce fine
handcrafted cold processed soaps. We have used them and found them
to be delightfully luxurious in feel and suds! Here's how they describe
them:
"Our soaps are made from a 100% vegetable
base using only the food-grade quality oils of olive, palm, and coconut.
To our fine base we add other natural ingredients such as pure essential
oils, oatmeal, and clay. Our soaps gently cleanse while leaving the
skin soft and supple, never dry!" We carry just two (our favorites!)
of the many scents they offer. To see their complete line, please
visit them at www.Stone Cross Farm.com
The soap is hand cut, and each bar weighs
approximately 4oz.
Calendula Petals & Patchouli Soap-This
soap contains almond oil which is an excellent emollient that will soften
and moisturize the skin. It has calendula petals for their
skin healing properties, and patchouli essential oil for its benefit to
dry skin, and scent. It is a lovely yellow color due to the addition
of natural annatto seeds. A treat for hard-working skin!!
Hemp Seed Oil Soap- This soap
is made with the finest cold-pressed hemp seed oil. Soothing and
moisturizing, with a light scent of cedarwood, clary sage and lavender
oils.
Prices-
The soaps are $4.50 each plus shipping.
(Shipping weight 4oz/bar)

BLUE GRASS
FINISHED BEEF®
Carlton Colcord owns a beautiful farm in the
heart of the bluegrass of Kentucky. In Paris, KY, he has dedicated
630 acres to raising grass fed beef A.S.H. Free (Antibiotic, Steroid and
Hormone free). Blue Moon became aware of his operation through David
Stern, Director of the Garlic Seed Foundation in upstate NY......small
world! Mr. Colcord had written to David to tell him of his garlic
growing efforts, and happened to mention that he was growing organic asparagus
too. David sent us contact information and suggested that we should
get to know each other, and he was right! In the spring of 2003 we
began selling his Certified Organic asparagus at our farmers' market (WOW!
What asparagus!!) and soon began talking about the possibilities of us
marketing his beef there as well. So the 2004 season found us owning
a trailer to haul to the market with a deep freeze full of BLUE GRASS FINISHED
BEEF®. We have it available from early April til the end of October
at the Lexington Farmers' Market, after that you can find it at Good Foods
Market & Cafe on Southland Drive, both uncooked in the Deli and in
dishes in the Cafe.
